Configure Outlook for Android - Microsoft Exchange

What You’ll Need

  • Your Microsoft 365 email address (e.g., name@company.ca)

  • Your password

  • Internet connection

  • MFA method ready (if enabled)


Step 1 – Install Outlook

  1. Open Google Play Store

  2. Search for Microsoft Outlook

  3. Install and open the app


Tip: The icon for Microsoft Outlook looks like this: 


Step 2 – Add Your Account

  1. Open Outlook

  2. Tap Add Account

  3. Enter your full email address

  4. Tap Continue

Outlook will automatically detect Microsoft 365.


Step 3 – Sign In

  1. Enter your password

  2. Complete multi-factor authentication (MFA) if prompted (more details here)

  3. Tap Accept to allow permissions

Outlook will sync:

  • Email

  • Calendar

  • Contacts


If Automatic Setup Fails (Manual Method)

  1. Choose Set up manually

  2. Select Exchange

  3. Enter:

    • Server: outlook.office365.com

    • Domain: Leave blank

    • Username: Full email address

    • Password: Email password

  4. Save


Important Notes

  • Outlook is recommended over the default Android mail app for Microsoft 365.

  • It supports modern authentication and security policies.

  • Shared mailboxes can be added after setup.
