Activate AVG Internet Security or Replace Your Licence Key

Applies to: AVG Internet Security (Home Edition) for Windows

If Office Works has provided you with a new AVG licence key, follow these instructions to activate your protection.

Already have AVG installed? You generally do not need to reinstall AVG when replacing an existing licence key. Simply follow the activation steps below.

Important: Complete these steps on each computer covered by your new licence.

Step 1 – Open AVG Internet Security

1. Click the Windows Start button.

2. Search for AVG Internet Security and open the application.

3. Click ☰ Menu in the upper-right corner.

4. Select Enter activation code.

If this option is not available, look under Menu → My Subscription for an option to activate your product.

Step 2 – Enter Your New Licence Key

1. Copy the licence key provided by Office Works.

2. Paste the key into the activation field, including the hyphens.

3. Click Enter.

4. If prompted to select a product, choose AVG Internet Security and follow the activation prompts.

AVG should now recognize your new licence.

Note: If AVG reports that the licence key is invalid, expired, or cannot be activated, please contact Office Works rather than purchasing another licence.

Step 3 – Confirm Your Subscription Is Active

Once activation is complete:

1. Click ☰ Menu → My Subscription.

2. Under Subscriptions on this PC, locate AVG Internet Security.

3. Confirm the subscription shows Active.

4. Verify that the expiration date is correct.

Step 4 – Check for Updates & Disable Unwanted Offers

We recommend completing two additional checks after activating AVG:

• Install the latest updates: Ensure your antivirus protection and AVG application are up to date.

• Disable unwanted promotional offers: Reduce advertisements and notifications encouraging you to purchase additional AVG products.

We recommend leaving important security notifications and real-time protection enabled.
